Swindon betting shop robbed at knifepoint as police launch urgent probe

A betting shop has been robbed at knifepoint – with police launching an urgent probe.

Officers responded to the incident at Betfred, at the West Swindon District Centre, at around 4.30pm this afternoon (2 December).

The suspects – two men wearing masks – threatened a cashier with a knife and subsequently made off with money in a green carrier bag.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “You may see an increased police presence in the area while we investigate what happened.

“If you saw the incident, or have information that could help with our enquiries please contact us on 101 quoting log number 205 of today (02/12).”
