Man seriously hurt in attack as he walked home from Swindon restaurant

A man was seriously hurt in an attack as he walked home from a Swindon restaurant.

The 23-year-old victim sustained multiple fractures to his face after reportedly being struck with a baseball bat as he made his way home from The Spotted Cow.

The incident is believed to have happened in the Eastmere area of Liden between 9pm and 9.55pm on Friday evening (17 November).

It’s said the man – who was with a friend at the time – called the police at 9.55pm, and they attended his address after he completed his journey home.

A police helicopter was spotted circling the area during the time of the attack, but it is not believed to have been tasked with this incident. The reason for its presence is currently unclear.

Wiltshire Police confirmed that victim sustained “serious injuries which are not thought to be life-changing” and said that their “investigation is still in its early stages”.
