Dog walker airlifted to John Radcliffe Hospital after being hit by car in Swindon

Critical care medics from Wiltshire Air Ambulance have attended a serious medical emergency in Swindon this morning, which saw a casualty flown to a specialist hospital in Oxford.

It’s understood a dog walker was hit by a car while it was reversing, at just before 9am.

Three police vehicles and four ambulance vehicles were seen parked at the scene outside the Banardo’s Donation Centre on Cavendish Square off Whitbourne Avenue.

Wiltshire Air Ambulance touched down on Shaftesbury Avenue – a short drive from the incident.

The casualty was airlifted to John Radcliffe Hospital, with the helicopter landing at 10.08am.

Tri-force Roads Policing Unit are currently at the scene.
