West Lavington man caught with hundreds of vile child abuse images

A West Lavington man was caught with hundreds of vile child abuse images.

Mark Sainsbury pleaded guilty to three counts of possessing indecent images of children and appeared at Salisbury Crown Court for sentencing today (Monday).

The 59-year-old former pub bouncer, of Homefield, had 442 photographs and movies on his laptop – including 13 that were categorised as being the most serious, involving penetration.

The defendant was handed a 24-month community order with the requirement to complete a Maps for Change sex offender programme and 100 hours of unpaid work.

Sainsbury must also register has a sex offender for five years and will be closely monitored with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order lasting the same period.
