Corsham boy, 17, ‘violently robbed teen of football’ as suspect arrested

A Corsham boy has been arrested on suspicion of the violent robbery of a football.

The incident took place in the vicinity of Springfield Community Campus park at approximately 1.50pm on the Monday (9 October).

At the time, it was reported that a 17-year-old boy student from The Corsham School was approached by a group of males and threatened – before being assaulted.

Officers have since arrested a 17-year-old local boy on suspicion of robbery. He was taken to Gablecross custody for questioning and released on conditional bail.

In a post on social media, Wiltshire Police say the attack happened because “the victim wouldn’t give him his football”.
