Woman hit by car outside Malmesbury supermarket suffers serious injuries

A woman hit by a car outside a Malmesbury supermarket has suffered serious injuries.

Emergency services were called to the road traffic collision on the A429 at the entrance to Waitrose at around 10am this morning (Tuesday).

A casualty, a woman aged in her 70s, sustained serious injuries on being struck by a car and was rushed to hospital for urgent treatment.

Whilst serious, her injuries aren’t thought to be life-changing or life-threatening.

The road was closed in both directions for approximately two hours.

Wiltshire Police confirmed that no arrests were made in connection with the incident.
