SAS soldiers spotted jumping from helicopters in Swindon town centre

SAS soldiers have been spotted jumping from helicopters in Swindon town centre.

At least two helicopters were seen to fly low over the town, but they did not appear on flight tracking apps and websites.

Despite the darkness, it was easy to identify the helicopters as Dauphins used ‘Blue Thunder’, an elite SAS unit deployed for domestic counter terror operations.

Several people say they witnessed people jumping out of one of the helicopters as they hovered in particular areas. Gunfire was also heard.

One person was sighted dropping out over the former 12-storey railway offices, Signal Point. They’re situated directly above the railway station.

Others claim the two aircraft touched down in Spring Gardens, off Fleming Way, before lifting again a short time later.

Whilst it has not been confirmed, it is likely to be a training exercise given the style of activity taking place in locations across Swindon.
