Dog ‘used to attack’ man outside Swindon library as police launch probe

Police are investigating after a dog was ‘used to attack’ a man outside a Swindon library.

It’s believed two men coaxed a Doberman to attack another man at around 12.10pm on 12 October.

The incident happened outside the library in Beechcroft Road, Upper Stratton.

The victim of the assault, a man in his 30s, suffered cuts to his legs after he was bitten twice.

PC Josh Pinsent said: “Incidents of this nature are completely unacceptable and will be investigated fully so those involved can be dealt with robustly.

“I’d urge anyone who is concerned for the welfare or dangers of a dog, to please get in touch.”
