Man pronounced dead after emergency services called to A303 incident

A man has died after an incident on the A303 in Wiltshire at the weekend.

Emergency services were called to the major route near Willoughby Hedge Cafe in West Knoyle shortly after 8am on Sunday (22 October).

Several ambulance response vehicles, Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and the police were in attendance of a male in cardiac arrest.

Despite the best efforts of medics, the man – aged in his 50s – was pronounced dead at the scene.

“There are no suspicious circumstances and our thoughts are with his family”, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said.
