The area is cordoned off by police and staff are being told to remain inside as a ‘suspicious package’ is investigated by specially-trained firefighters.

Wiltshire 999s understands the package contained white powder.

At least two Hazardous Area Response Team ambulance crews are in attendance, but it’s not yet clear if anyone’s been harmed in the incident.

A Thames Water spokesperson said: “We are working alongside the local fire brigade and police following an incident at our Walnut Court office this morning.

“The health and safety of our employees is our top priority and we are taking precautionary measures to support staff who have been impacted by this.”
