Man suffers stab wounds in Swindon assault as 32-year-old charged

A man was taken to hospital after being stabbed in Swindon over the weekend.

Emergency services were called to the serious assault in Linden Avenue shortly after 7am yesterday morning (Sunday, 1 October).

A man, aged in his 20s, was treated in hospital for knife wounds – which are not thought to be physically life-threatening or life-changing.

Forensics have been attending the scene and detectives have been carrying out door-to-door enquiries.

A house in Whitworth Road was also cordoned off and was guarded by police as officers investigated.

In connection with the the incident, 32-year-old Michael Gibson, of Whitworth Road, has been charged with criminal damage and use of threatening language or behaviour.

He was released on bail to appear at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on 18 October.
