Police arrest man and seize weapons in morning raid at Swindon property

A man’s been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences following a morning raid in Swindon.

Around ten police vehicles – including four armed response cars and a dog unit – executed a warrant in Twickenham Close, off Greenbridge Road at before 11am today, 25 January.

A man was arrested and taken into the back of a police van at around 11.30am.

A number of officers remain at the scene at midday, conducting a search of the property.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Officers attended an address in Colebrook at approximately 10.50am this morning to conduct a warrant.

“A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences and possession of a class A drug. He has been taken to custody for questioning while enquiries continue.

“Searches have been conducted at the address and a number of weapons have been seized.”
