Biker breaks jaw in A420 crash as driver from Swindon arrested

A biker has broken his jaw in a crash on the A420 just over the Wiltshire border.

Thames Valley Police were called to the incident at the Fernham Road junction in Faringdon at around 7.35am this morning (Tuesday).

A motorcycle, Citroen van, and Jaguar E-pace were involved – with the biker, a man in his 20s from Oxford, sustaining a suspected broken jaw.

The casualty was rushed to hospital for treatment and is said to be in a stable condition.

The driver of the Citroen – a 25-year-old man from Swindon – is being held in custody suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving and drug driving.

The major route was partially blocked until around midday as emergency services dealt with the road traffic collision and carried out investigation work.

Investigating officer PC David Burleigh, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said: “We are appealing for anyone who witnessed this collision or anyone who has dash-cam of the incident to please come forward.
