Man airlifted to hospital after digger overturns near Chippenham

A man’s been airlifted to hospital after a digger overturned near Chippenham.

Emergency services were called to field off Watergates in Colerne at about 10am today (Monday).

Great Western Air Ambulance, local ambulance crews and Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service (DWFRS) attended the incident.

The casualty was free from the digger when three fire crews, from Chippenham and Corsham stations, arrived on scene. They were stood down shortly after 11am.

The man – who is believed to have suffered serious injuries – was airlifted to Southmead Hospital’s Major Trauma Centre in Bristol.
