Police cordon off walkway after officer ‘lost body-worn camera’

Police have cordoned off a walkway after an officer ‘lost their body-worn camera’.

Extensive searches are being carried out in The Avenue area of Warminster, today (Sunday) – including in local residents’ gardens.

Whilst members of the public would be unable to access the footage on the camera, it could contain vital evidence – which can’t be retrieved until it’s docked at the station.

The Reveal recording device, usually seen on a police officer’s tactical vest alongside a radio, is believed to have been lost during an incident in the early hours.

One woman, who lives nearby, told Wiltshire 999s that she heard screaming and shouting in the area at around 3pm — from what she believes may have been a fight.

If anyone finds the camera, they are asked to call 101 quoting log number 67 of today (10 September).
