Man attacked in Swindon flat as burglary carried out by two suspects

A man was attacked in his Swindon flat as a burglary was carried out by two suspects.

Detectives are investigating the incident – which took place in Kingswood Avenue, Park North, at around 9pm yesterday (Thursday, 17 August).

Officers responding to reports of a disorder at the address established that two men had pushed their way into a property and assaulted the victim, a man in his 40s, and threatened him with a knife.

They then stole cash and alcohol before fleeing, possibly on bicycles.

The victim was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries, which are not thought to be life-changing. He remained in hospital overnight and was discharged this morning (Friday).

A scene has been set up at the property and forensic investigation work is ongoing.
