No arrests made in Swindon stabbing investigation, police confirm

No arrests have been made in a stabbing investigation, Wiltshire Police has confirmed.

A man, aged in his 30s, sustained knife wounds during an attack in an alleyway behind Cricklade Road in Swindon yesterday morning (Tuesday, 1 August).

The victim was treated by local paramedics, and Wiltshire Air Ambulance medics, before being rushed to Great Western Hospital for further care.

Armed police were deployed with a National Police Air Service helicopter immediately after the serious incident – but failed to locate any suspects.

Whitworth Road Cemetery was cordoned off whilst it was searched – along with part of Cricklade Road and alleyways linking it with Handel Street for forensic work.

Wiltshire Police today (Wednesday) said that no arrests have been made. The investigation continues…
