Police helicopter deployed after ‘stabbing’ in Swindon alleyway

UPDATE: Broad daylight stabbing in Swindon – police confirm more details


A police helicopter has been deployed following a serious assault in Swindon alleyway.

The incident – which witnesses say was a stabbing – took place in the Cricklade Road area, near Transfer Bridges, at around midday today (Tuesday).

Wiltshire Air Ambulance medics provided care to the casualty – reportedly an adult male – with local ambulance crews and police at the scene.

The injured man, who locals claim was covered in blood on his neck and chest, was taken to Great Western Hospital by land ambulance.

Cricklade Road, between Beatrice Street and Ferndale Road, has been cordoned off as a crime scene whilst police investigate.

Several alleyways have been cordoned off too – with police guarding the area.

Numerous armed police officers were spotted in the area following the reported attack. Since, they’ve been seen circling Pinehurst with the helicopter overhead.
