Two bikers face court proceedings after ‘racing’ on A4 into Calne

Two bikers face court proceedings after ‘racing’ on the A4 into Calne.

Wiltshire Police said that officers stopped two motorcyclists and a car driver using an unmarked BMW on the major route near Cherhill earlier today (Saturday).

All three motorists – two bikers and a driver – were reportedly racing and have been reported to court for driving offences.

It comes as hundreds of motorcycles descend on Calne town centre for the annual bike meet, which attracts significant numbers of people.

A roads policing spokesperson said: “They didn’t bet on our unmarked car being present. All three reported. We want people to enjoy the weekend safely.”
