Woman plucked from overturned wreckage after Faringdon crash

A woman was plucked from an overturned wreckage after a crash in Faringdon.

Members of the public rushed to pull a wounded driver from a vehicle following a road traffic collision on the A417 Stanford Road yesterday (Thursday, 27 July).

The reportedly head-on smash involved two cars – a green Skoda Fabia and a white Kia Seed – shortly after 5pm.

The female driver of the Skoda driver sustained serious injuries. She was treated by Thames Valley Air Ambulance medics before being taken to hospital for urgent care.

The road was closed between Faringdon and Shellingford/Hatford for several hours.

In a statement, Thames Valley Police said: “Appeal for witnesses and dash cam footage following a collision on the A417, Stanford Road, Oxfordshire.

“A green Skoda Fabia and a white Kia Seed collided. The Skoda driver suffered serious injuries.

“Happened at 5.13pm yesterday. Info? Please call 101 ref 43230334149.”
