At the time of the collision, his injuries were deemed serious but did not warrant a full-scale investigation.

Today (Wednesday), the forensic collision investigators returned to the scene and closed the High Street, and nearby crossroads, in all directions to carry out enquiries.

It’s believed the man’s injuries were found to be more serious than first thought, with vital evidence gathering required as soon as practically possible.

Locals reported seeing approximately ten police vehicles in attendance this afternoon, and a police drone being used to photograph the area from above.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We are appealing for any witnesses to the collision or anyone with dashcam footage to contact the serious collision investigation team on 01225 694597 quoting log number 54230075596. Alternatively email [email protected].”
