Bus crashes through wall in Salisbury – and gets stuck in ditch

A bus crashed through the wall of a car park in Salisbury this afternoon (Thursday).

Emergency services were called to the road traffic collision at Petersfinger Park and Ride, off A36 Southampton Road, at around 3pm.

An electric Salisbury Reds bus ploughed through a wall at the entrance to the site – getting stuck in a ditch after narrowly missing a gate and ticket machine.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service sent a crew from Salisbury to make the scene safe as a passenger on the bus was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We responded to reports of a road traffic collision in Southampton Road, Salisbury at about 3.20pm yesterday (14/07).

“A bus left the road, struck a brick wall and came to rest in a ditch.

“One passenger was taken to hospital as a precaution having sustained minor injuries.”
