Traffic delays as lorry gets wedged under low bridge in Swindon

There are traffic delays after a lorry got wedged under a low bridge in Swindon.

The Hacklings-branded vehicle appears to have become stuck under Whitehouse Bridge, between Great Western Way and Corporation Street, at around 8.30am this morning (Saturday).

The road is partially blocked in the direction of Swindon town centre – with traffic queuing to exit Great Western Way.

Police and Network Rail are understood to be aware of the situation.

If the van isn’t easy to remove or there is any damage to the structure of the bridge, the road could be closed in both directions.
