Man charged after ‘illegal’ electric bike crashes in Trowbridge

A man has been charged after an ‘illegal’ electric bike crashed in Trowbridge.

Police were called to a road traffic collision in Fore Street at around 11.30pm on Saturday (1 July).

An electric bike, reported to be illegally modified, hit a parked car.

The 20-year-old rider was arrested on suspicion of drink driving following a roadside breath test.

Morgan Cope, of Orchard Drive, Southwick, has since been charged with drink driving, driving without a licence and driving without insurance.

He has been released on bail and is due to appear at Salisbury Magistrates Court on 4 August.
