A witness, who didn’t want to be named, said: “I saw the guy on the edge of the car park, I really though he was going to jump. It wouldn’t have been a nice sight for those stood watching.”

At around 11.30am, officers at the scene confirmed the man had been brought down from the edge.

A police spokesperson said: We were called at 11am to concerns for the welfare of a man in the Brunel West car park, Swindon. Officers engaged with the man and he has been taken home.”
