Firefighters ‘stabilise’ car after road traffic collision in Chippenham

Emergency services are dealing with a road traffic collision in Chippenham.

Police and the fire service were called to the A4 Bath Road, opposite the Lowden junction, at around 7.30pm this evening (Wednesday).

A silver Nissan Juke left the carriageway and veered up a small embankment. It’s not clear whether any other vehicles were involved.

The small SUV came to rest in a dangerous position, with two fire engines from Chippenham attending the scene to make the scene safe.

Firefighters used the StabFast stabilisation system to prevent the car from rolling onto its side.

Nobody’s believed to have been injured in the incident and it’s not known how it happened.

The road is partially obstructed by emergency vehicles, but traffic is flowing past the scene.
