Swindon man stabbed in his own home as police arrest suspect

A man has been stabbed during an attack in Swindon, it has been confirmed.

Emergency services were called to the incident at a house in Thornford Drive, Westlea, at around 4.20pm this afternoon (Sunday) following reports the occupant was assaulted.

The victim, whose age has not been provided by police, sustained knife wounds. His injuries aren’t believed to be life-threatening.

Earlier today, in an incident that’s thought to be unrelated, two or three people were stabbed in Moredon in broad daylight.

Police have since arrested a man in connection with this incident on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.

He is currently in police custody, where he is being questioned by detectives.
