A child was airlifted to hospital after ‘falling from a tipper truck’ on Sunday (11 June).

The youngster reportedly climbed up on a tipper truck before falling to the ground and sustaining injuries.

According to witnesses, around 20 police officers – including armed police, dog units and traffic cops – were spotted at the scene alongside ambulance crews.

It’s understood there was an altercation between the police and the traveller families on site, sparking the significant response from Thames Valley Police.

Due to the heavy emergency services presence, the A417 was closed in both directions.

After a short investigation, the force “found that no crime was committed”.

A spokesperson also confirmed, following an assessment by doctors in the hospital, that the child didn’t suffer any serious injuries.
