Swindon teen, 15, appears in court charged with attempted murder

A Swindon teenager has appeared in court charged with attempted murder.

The 15-year-old boy was remanded into secure local authority accommodation when he appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court this morning (Saturday).

The youth is accused of attempting to kill a 17-year-old boy in Meadowcroft Fields in Swindon on Thursday evening (8 June) – but knifing him multiple times.

Wiltshire Police has confirmed that the victim is now in a “serious but stable” condition at Southmead Hospital in Bristol, where he was flown by air ambulance.

For legal reasons, neither the defendant or victim can be named by the press or the public

A force spokesperson said: “We continue to appeal for witnesses or information from the local community in relation to this incident.
