Two air ambulances called to treat injured biker after Wiltshire crash

A serious crash involving a motorbike has closed on a junction in Wiltshire.

Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision on the B4696 Braydon Road Crossroads at around 1.30pm this afternoon (Saturday).

A car and a motorbike were involved, resulting in the biker sustaining serious injuries.

Two HEMS helicopters – Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance – attended the scene alongside local ambulance crews and police.

The casualty was airlifted to the Major Trauma Centre for urgent treatment.

The crossroads – linking The Common with Pavenhill, Purton – are expected to remain closed until the early hours of tomorrow morning (Sunday 28 May).

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “There has been a serious road traffic collision at the crossroads at Braydon involving a car and a motorbike.

“We would advise drivers to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.”
