Penhill shooting: Man and woman arrested for ‘conspiracy to murder’

A man and woman have been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder as police continue to investigate the shooting of a teenager in Swindon.

The pair, both aged in their 40s, were taken into custody on Friday morning (28 April).

A 40-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder also remained in custody yesterday as detectives were granted more time to question him.

The victim, a 17-year-old boy, sustained a gunshot wound to the head and is currently receiving treatment at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.

Detectives want to hear from anybody who can assist with the ongoing investigation.

“We would especially ask that anyone with CCTV, doorbell cameras or dash cam footage taken from the evening of Sunday 23 April into the morning of Monday April 24 should contact us as a matter of urgency by calling 101 and quoting log 54230042679”, a spokesperson said.

Adding: “You can also leave information without giving your name by calling Crimestoppers on 080 555111.”
