A serious road traffic collision has closed a Salisbury route in both directions.

Emergency services were called to a crash involving a motorcycle on the A36 at around 5.15pm this afternoon (Thursday).

Wiltshire Air Ambulance touched down in Churchill Gardens, with the charity’s critical care medics rushing to the scene.

It’s not known if any other vehicles were involved or the condition of any possible casualties.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Please be aware that the A36 ringroad in Salisbury is currently closed in both directions between St Marks roundabout and the Wiltshire College roundabout due to a serious RTC.”

They added: “Please avoid the area.”
