Fire crews were called to a cinema in Salisbury following a call about the smell of burning.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service (DWFRS) dispatched firefighters to the scene at ODEON in New Canal at around 12.20pm this afternoon (Wednesday).

Three fire engines were in attendance, but it was quickly established the cause – smoke issuing from a motor-ventilated system.

Firefighters isolated the motor and cooled it, using thermal imaging cameras to check for further hotspots, a DWFRS spokesperson confirmed.
