More details revealed about Swindon double attempted murder probe

A man and woman are under investigation after it was claimed they attempted to murder each other.

Emergency services were called to Ulysses Road, Swindon, on Saturday morning (25 February) following reports of a man with a stab wound outside a property shortly before 8.30am.

The seriously wounded man was rushed to hospital for urgent treatment, whilst officers arrested a woman – aged in her 20s – on suspicion of attempted murder.

The woman alleged that the man – aged 27 – had attempted to kill her through suffocation.

After receiving this further information, police also arrested the man on suspicion of attempted murder.

Both suspects have since been released from police custody on conditional bail – and remain under investigation for attempted murder.

Forensic work was carried out at the scene in Oakhurst for 48 hours following the alleged attacks, with investigators in white overalls collecting evidence and photographing the scene.

Two police officers guarded the apartment complex as detectives attended the building. It’s understood that officers have since left the scene.

Wiltshire Police, in an earlier statement, said: “Please be reassured that this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the wider public.”
