Woman, 69, dead and three critically injured in Cotswolds horror crash

One person is dead and three others have been critically injured in a horror crash in The Cotswolds.

Three air ambulances, including Wiltshire’s, were scrambled to the fatal road traffic collision near Burford shortly before midday today (Saturday).

A Honda Jazz and a Skoda Fabia were involved in the incident on the A40 at Little Barrington.

The 69-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family have been informed by specialist officers.

Three other people have been taken to hospital with serious injuries and each remain in critical condition. Their ages and genders have not been confirmed by police at this early stage.

Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Midlands Air Ambulance both flew to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford following their attendance at the fatal smash.

Gloucestershire Constabulary say the road remains closed this evening. It’s understood forensic collision investigators are working at the location.

A force spokesperson added: “Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision, or who has dash cam footage which they believe is relevant, to come forward.
