Mustang demolishes traffic light in Swindon crash — near aptly named road

A Mustang has demolished a traffic light in a crash in Swindon — near an aptly named road.

Police were called to the road traffic collision Purton Road at around 9.30am this morning (Sunday).

The incident — which saw a traffic light ripped from the ground — happened between the junctions with Thamesdown Drive, and ironically, Mustang Way.

Wiltshire Police is appealing for witnesses, or any drivers with dashcam footage of the collision, to come forward.

In a statement, a force spokesperson said: “We would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed a road traffic collision in Thamesdown Drive, Swindon where a car appears to have collided with a set of traffic lights before leaving the road.

“The incident took place at about 9.30am today (15/01).

“Anyone with information or dashcam footage is asked to call us on 101 quoting log 54230004863.”
