Emergency services called as ambulance collides with lamppost in Swindon

A busy main road in Swindon was partially blocked yesterday following an ambulance crash.

Motorists using Kingshill Road in Old Town faced delays as police officers directed traffic around the scene – where a South Western Ambulance Service rapid response car hit a lamppost.

The road traffic collision happened at around 2.30pm on Wednesday afternoon.

The driver of the ambulance, a paramedic, was not injured during the incident.

A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “We were called at approximately 2.40pm yesterday to a report that a first responder vehicle had collided with a lamppost in Kingshill Road, Swindon.”
