Woman rushed to hospital after crashing moped on busy Chippenham route

A woman has been rushed to hospital after crashing her moped on a busy Chippenham route.

Police were called to the road traffic collision in Bath Road at around 2pm today (Tuesday).

The female rider was covered in a blanket as an off-duty medical professional and police officers provided first aid.

However, she’s not believed to have sustained any serious injuries in the crash.

Wiltshire Police say “enquiries are ongoing” into the incident and did not confirm whether another vehicle was involved.

The busy route was closed between The Pheasant Roundabout and Methuen Park until around 5pm.

It’s thought ambulance delays sparked the lengthy road closure; it was safer to shut the road whilst police awaited their arrival.
