Drama at Swindon garden centre after driver ploughs car into building

A driver has ploughed their car into the wall of a garden centre in Swindon.

The red Toyota Yaris was involved in a collision with Dobbies Garden Centre, in Hyde Road, Upper Stratton, at around 1.30pm today (Sunday).

According to witnesses, the driver was an elderly woman. It’s believed the car shunted forward into the building at low speed due to driver error.

The vehicle impacted the wall at the front of the garden centre and resulted in a large window being smashed.

“It’s made a mess, Yucca plants everywhere as well as glass”, one stunned shopper said.

It’s understood emergency services weren’t called to the incident.
