Crime scene at Swindon flat after man, 50s, seriously injured in attack

A crime scene is in place at a Swindon flat after a man was seriously injured.

Emergency services were called to the incident at Sheringham Court in Liden at around 4.30am this morning (Monday).

The wounded man, aged in his 50s, was rushed to Great Western Hospital with significant injuries – which police say aren’t life-changing.

A man, also aged in his 50s, was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent. He remains in police custody.

The flat – where the incident occurred – has been cordoned off as a crime scene, with an officer guarding the property.

Locals say they’ve seen a presence at the address for the entire day. Police officers have been coming and going, with a crime scene investigation van attending from 11am.
