The A419, between White Hart Roundabout and Commonhead Roundabout, has been closed since the tragedy – which is suspected to have been a suicide.

In an earlier statement, Wiltshire Police confirmed the route was to remain closed until late evening – however, it is now expected to remain shut until at least 10pm.

“Drivers are advised that closures will be in place on both carriageways of the A419 at Dorcan Way and at the White Hart roundabout near the Honda factory until late this evening”, a spokesperson wrote.

“This is likely to cause significant delays, especially during rush hour – please allow extra time and seek alternative routes.

“Our enquiries are ongoing to ascertain the facts surrounding this incident.

“We are asking that anyone who may have driven along the A419 in the early hours to check their vehicle and contact us if you see any damage or have any other concerns.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who may have recorded dashcam footage at the time and location of the incident.

“If you can help, please call the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 01225 694597 and quote log number 19 of November 16. Alternatively, email [email protected].”
