The A419 and an overbridge have been closed following a serious crash in Swindon.
Emergency services were called to the scene near the Merlin Way road bridge at around 2.30am this morning (Wednesday 16 November).
Wiltshire Police has since launched a forensic collision investigation – which means the usually busy route will remain closed until later today.
In a statement, the force said: “Drivers, please be aware, there are expected to be delays on the roads this morning following a serious collision on the A419 which occurred at around 2.30am this morning.
“As a result, we have closed both carriageways of the A419 at Dorcan Way and at the White Hart roundabout near to Honda.
“The Wanborough Bridge has also been closed.
“These closures are expected to be in place for several hours including the morning rush hour. Please avoid the area and seek an alternative route.”
