Casualty airlifted to hospital after crashing car into tree on major Wiltshire route

A major route through Wiltshire has been closed following a serious crash.

Emergency services were called to the A346 in Cadley at 2.20pm today (Saturday, 12 November).

The road traffic collision involved a single vehicle; the car is understood to have left the road and impacted a tree, leaving the driver with significant injuries.

Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance landed near the crash site and is believed to have airlifted the casualty to Southmead Hospital in Bristol.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service is also in attendance alongside South Western Ambulance Service, with at least two fire crews at the incident.

Wiltshire Police has launched a forensic collision investigation, and work is expected to take a large chunk of the day.

The busy route road, between Marlborough and Burbage, is expected to remain closed until late tonight.
