Woman banned from contact with partner after alleged knife threat

A woman has been banned from having contact with her partner after allegedly threatening him with a knife.

Josie Arbon, 30, appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday (8 November) days after Wiltshire Police were called to a domestic incident.

The woman’s partner called 999 in a distressed state, reporting that she had threatened him with a knife during an argument.

When officers attended the scene, the alleged victim was said to be hyperventilating and crying, and Arbon is said to have continued to be aggressive.

During the civil hearing, Gemma Sole, of Wiltshire Police, asked the magistrates to impose a domestic violence protection order (DVPO) for 28 days.

Ms Sole alleged that there have been a number of previous violent domestic incidents involving the couple during their 15-year relationship.

On hearing that the alleged victim supports his partner, of Emerald Crescent, Swindon, but also wishes to have a ‘stop gap’, magistrates imposed a 14-day DVPO.

During that time, Arbon is prohibited from contacting her person or attending their address and evicting him from their address.
