Suspected shoplifter arrested by undercover police officer after foot pursuit

A suspected shoplifter was arrested after a foot pursuit in Swindon town centre.

It came after an undercover neighbourhood police officer followed the known offender into Wilko in The Parade at around midday yesterday (Tuesday, 8 November).

After reportedly observing the man select items and leave the store without paying for them, he confronted him – but the suspect immediately made off on foot.
