Woman, 60s, attacked by ‘kids as young as ten’ during Chippenham burglary

A woman was attacked by a group of children as they burgled her house in Chippenham.

The victim, in her 60s, left her home in Hilltop Park unlocked as she collected items from her vehicle at around 9.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 2 November).

On returning moments later, she found three boys in her living room – who are thought to be aged between 10 and 15 years of age.

The woman was then pushed by a suspect, banging her head. She then fell unconscious and remained on the floor for several hours.

After gaining consciousness, she discovered that £120 was missing from her wallet.

The victim has been taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath for treatment of an injury to her head and shoulder following the attack.

Two crime scene investigators attended the property in Hunters Field, off Easton Lane, earlier today to examine the scene and gather evidence.

The young suspects were said to be wearing dark ripped jeans and dark hoodies.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Our officers are in the area carrying out house to house enquiries and offering community reassurance.
