Four soldiers from Wiltshire arrested after man, 20s, seriously hurt in attack

Four soldiers from Wiltshire have been arrested following a serious assault.

Emergency services were called to the violent attack on Bridge Street in Andover, Hampshire, in the early hours of Saturday morning (15 October).

A man in his 20s was rushed to Southampton General Hospital with significant injuries. He remains hospitalised in a serious condition.

Hampshire Police confirmed that three males from Bulford, aged 18, 20 and 21, were arrested on suspicion of Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent.

A 28-year-old man from Perham Down, near Tidworth, was arrested for the same offence, as was an 18-year-old from the Andover area.

The Ministry of Defence Police confirmed that four service personnel were arrested in connection with the attack.

A spokesperson said it was “inappropriate to comment further” due to the ongoing investigation.
