Railway line blocked both ways after person hit by train east of Swindon

The railways line is blocked both ways after a person was hit by a train east of Swindon.

Emergency services were called to the incident near Didcot at around 8.10pm this evening (Monday, 10 October).

As a result, the line is blocked in both directions between Swindon and Didcot Parkway — which is causing delays on the mainline.

A spokesperson for Great Western Railway said: “Due to a person hit by a train between Didcot Parkway and Swindon all lines are blocked.

“Train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until 22:30 10/10.”
