According to witnesses, a young male was knocked off his bike by a car and stabbed by one of the occupants who then fled the area – but this has not been confirmed.

Following the serious assault, a footbath alongside Shepperton Way, in Abbey Meads, was cordoned off as a crime scene overnight and for most of today (Friday, 7 October).

A plastic box appeared to cover a glass bottle resting on top of the hedgerow – located about half a mile from the McDonald’s.

Two men have since been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent. They are currently in police custody for questioning.

A teenage male was also arrested on suspicion of affray. He is also in custody.
