Crime scene after teenager, 18, seriously assaulted outside shop in Swindon

A crime scene is in place following a serious assault outside a shop in Swindon.

Police, including armed officers, were called to the incident in Birch Street at around 12.30pm this afternoon (Tuesday, 4 October).

A 16-year-old boy sustained injuries and was rushed to hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown at this time.

A crime scene has been put in place around the Mini Market as detectives attend the site to carry out an investigation into the attack.

Birch Street is closed by police at the junction with George Street – and the area is likely to remain closed for several hours.

Wiltshire Police is asking anyone who witnessed the incident to call the force on 101 and quote log number 127.
